After the completion of the NBA play-in tournament, we knew the 14 lottery-bound teams for the 2022 NBA draft. The 2022 NBA draft, branded as the 2022 NBA Draft presented by State Farm, was the 76th edition of the National Basketball Association annual draft that was held on June 23, 2022, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City. The draft featured 58 picks between Rounds 1 and 2, as opposed to the customary 60, as the second round was reduced to 58 picks for the first time since 2018.
Paolo Banchero was selected first overall by the Orlando Magic. Chet Holmgren was selected second overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Jabari Smith Jr. was selected third overall by the Houston Rockets. The draft was widely considered to be one of the deepest and most talented in recent memory, with several players having the potential to become All-Stars.
